As the school year progresses, many Grade 5 families find themselves embarking on the journey of transitioning to middle school. This transition marks an exciting new chapter! To ensure a smooth process, here's a comprehensive guide outlining important dates and steps to take.

1. Mark Your Calendars:

  • March 22nd: Registration Forms Emailed to Grade 5 Families.
  • April 11th: Deadline for Submitting Registration Forms 
  • May 1st: SJF Open House for Grade 5 Students and Parents/Guardians
  • May 2nd: Email Notification of Option Course Selection Information
  • May 3rd: Grade 5 Orientation Visits at SJF
  • May 3rd - 24th: Period for Selecting Option Preferences
  • May 15th-16th: Visits to Feeder Schools

2. Action Steps for Families:

  • All families with current grade 5 students designated for SJF for the fall received an email with a registration form to submit electronically by Thursday, April 11th. If you have any issues with this process, please contact our office at 403-381-2977.
  • Attend the Grade 5 Open House on May 1st to familiarize yourself with SJF.
  • Stay alert for email notifications regarding option course selection on May 2nd.
  • Grade 5 students will participate in an orientation visits at SJF on May 3rd.
  • Select option preferences electronically between May 3rd and 24th.
